The Pentagon Federal Credit Union Foundation will hold the Fifth Annual Night of Heroes gala on June 4th, 2009 at the Ritz-Carlton Tysons Corner. This year, the Night of Heroes gala will commemorate the 65th Anniversary of D-Day. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a reception, followed by a dinner and program and will end by 10:00 p.m.

The master of ceremonies for the evening is CBS News journalist Bob Schieffer. Receiving the Military Hero Award will be Bob Feller, member of the Baseball Hall of Fame and decorated World War II Navy Veteran. The awards will be presented by General Barry McCaffrey USA (Ret). Honored guests for the evening will be veterans of World War II, wounded patients from Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda National Naval Medical Center and residents from the Armed Forces Retirement Home.

Because Pentagon Federal Credit Union pays all of the foundation’s administrative costs, 100% of the net funds raised from the gala will go to support programs for wounded soldiers and their families.
