A Way Back Home
Jeff Bounds suffered multiple injuries in Iraq. His family traveled from their base in Germany and stayed by his side throughout his recovery at Walter Reed. This became challenging because, for the first six months, Jeff and Amy and their four children, ages 6 through 13, had to share a single room in the Mologne House at Walter Reed. And transportation was always a problem given six people with different schedules.
Happily Jeff has been told he can go home now. He and the family are embarking on a cross-country trip to Washington State to begin their new life as a retired Army family. Hal Erskine, a long-time supporter of the Foundation, donated a low-mileage 2002 Suburban with all the bells and whistles so that the Bounds family would have a safe trip and a means of transportation back home. Jeff and Amy wrangled over who would get to drive the SUV, while the children tested the DVD and wireless headphones. We wish them the best in their new endeavors!
