BIOGRAPHY
Lt Gen (Ret) Paul T. Mikolashek
Paul T. Mikolashek was born in Akron, Ohio and received his commission in 1969 upon
graduation as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Akron. He received a Master of Arts
degree in Education Administration from Michigan State University and was awarded a Doctor of Humane
Letters (Honorary) from The University of Akron.
He began his career in the 1st Armored Division and served in combat in Vietnam.
He has held staff and command assignments within the United States as well as Germany, Vietnam,
Japan, NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, Kuwait and Italy.
Lt Gen Mikolashek served as Assistant Division Commander, 82d Airborne Division;
Chief, Office of Military Cooperation-Kuwait; Commanding General Southern European Task Force
(Airborne), and Commanding General Third US Army/Coalition Forces Land Component Command during
Operation Enduring Freedom. His final assignment was as The Inspector General of the US Army.
In 2005 he accepted a position at Raytheon as its Army Service Executive and
Regional Executive for the Middle East and North Africa with Raytheon International.
Lieutenant General Mikolashek's awards and decorations include the Defense Superior
Service Medal, the Distinguished Service Medal (with oak leaf cluster), the Legion of Merit (two oak
leaf clusters), the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal
(two oak leaf clusters), Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, and Combat Infantryman Badge.
